Hi guys. As I continue to make more art, I'd like to know what other people might find interesting instead of just working from my own imagination. I know we have to create an open thread for an assignment, but I am genuinely asking for suggestions from you all, as I would really appreciate some new perspectives and ideas. You could be talking about mediums to work with, topics of work, themes, anything goes. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I was going to suggest something superhero related but then I saw that you already did an awesome job on the joker. Maybe since it is fall you can get a really awesome shot of the trees.
ReplyDeleteIt'd be cool if you did something for the holiday season like children playing in the snow or leaves or something? On the complete opposite side, I've always loved doing stuff with charcoals, especially skulls!
ReplyDeleteI recently saw something with the Disney princesses wearing the outfits of their princes to flip the gender roles and I think it'd be cool to do something like that! Otherwise, I'm always a fan of any photography with snowfall because I think it's so pretty (even though I absolutely despise it when I can't just be inside).

In writing, though, I've been trying to explore the more basic aspects of life with other people and trying to further explore that aspect's place in larger society. Like the changing approach to technology and its social uses lately. That's just what I've been interested in lately.
I don't really have any suggestions for topics for you, but I did want to say that you're killing it with the watercolors! I basically spent my high school career in the art room and I always loved working with pencil and watercolors, and I saw a few posts ago that those are your favorite mediums, too. You're making me miss doing art ;~;
ReplyDeleteI've really been into mandalas and henna like designs recently. The intricate detail really draws me in. That would be awesome if you could incorporate some designs like this into your already amazing work!
ReplyDeleteI think it would be cool to do something related to the season. Find some turkeys, or trees losing their leaves. I would say that waiting until it snows and doing something with that would be cool.
ReplyDeleteI completely and totally admire your creativity. I'm the farthest thing from artistic, but when I look for inspiration to write I try to take a step back and think about whats going on around me in life. I draw from my recent experiences, maybe you can try the same!

I don't know how much time I'll have to do much artwork over these last few weeks of the semester because I will be pretty bogged down with finals and these last bits of schoolwork. However, I will definitely take all of your ideas to heart when I find time to do some work again. It's always helpful to hear what other people find interesting, so I really appreciate your input.
